The minor in music recording offers students hands-on experience in the modern commercial and popular music production process. Students will explore the theory and practice of basic principles including creation, editing, arrangement, and mixing. Though no prior production skills are required, students are encouraged to use their own creative work in course assignments and projects. The minor is rounded out with an elective from a specific list of music, music industry, and music technology electives.
Students concentrating in music may double count only one course between a concentration and a minor. Students may double count only one course between two different music minors. Should a student place out of a course in a minor, it must be replaced with another course relevant to the minor.
