New York City is home to numerous buy-side investment firms in both traditional asset management and alternative asset management firms in the areas of private equity, private debt, and hedge funds. Students studying investments in New York City are at the center of it all. This location-powered concentration harnesses Northeastern University's signature experiential learning model: The technical skills developed in the classroom directly mirror the work students will perform such as security analysis, portfolio management, and risk management. This concentration is specifically oriented toward these career pathways, making this a unique differentiator for Northeastern's New York City campus.
The concentration is structured around two required courses and two electives that allow students to personalize their preparation for buy-side investment roles.
