Video News Storytelling, Minor

Video is emerging as the preeminent form of storytelling in all aspects of journalism. Television news brought video into people’s homes decades ago, but the digital revolution has transformed journalists and even the public at large into video storytellers. They are now delivering news and information using video to inform, enlighten, engage, and entertain audiences on multiple platforms, including social media. This minor provides both the foundation and the essential fundamentals for students of all majors who want to tell stories and communicate effectively through the use of video.

Complete all courses listed below unless otherwise indicated. Also complete any corequisite labs, recitations, clinicals, or tools courses where specified.

Note: A student pursuing the minor in video news storytelling must complete a minimum of three courses exclusive to this minor beyond the courses required for the student’s declared major(s), minor(s), or PlusOne.
