Complete all courses as outlined below unless otherwise indicated.  A total of five courses is required. A maximum of two transfer courses, including transferable courses taken abroad, may count toward the five courses required for the minor. Study-abroad courses must be approved by the Chinese academic coordinator prior to the semester abroad.

For students with prior knowledge of Chinese, a placement test will determine the appropriate first course. Note: Students who place at or above CHNS 2102 must complete the sequence through CHNS 3102 and take additional courses from the list of electives to fulfill the total credit requirements. For guidance on course selection, students should consult the Chinese academic coordinator.
