Complete all courses as outlined below unless otherwise indicated.  A total of five courses is required. A maximum of two transfer courses, including transferable courses taken abroad, may count toward the five courses required for the minor. Study-abroad courses must be approved by the Italian academic coordinator prior to the semester abroad. 

Required Language Courses

Note: For students with prior knowledge of Italian, a placement test will determine the appropriate first course. Students who place at or above ITLN 2102 must complete the sequence through ITLN 3102 by the end of the minor. Additional elective courses may be taken at any point to fulfill the total credit requirements of five courses. For guidance on course selection, students should consult the Italian academic coordinator.
Complete at least four language courses in sequence from the following:16

Electives

Note: ITLN 3101 and ITLN 3102 may not be counted toward both the language sequence requirement and the electives requirement. If these courses are used to complete the language sequence, students must select different courses from the remaining electives to fulfill the five-course total.
