The Full-Time MS in Finance/MBA dual degree program at Northeastern University’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business seeks to prepare resilient finance leaders with immersive study and experience-powered learning. The program integrates advanced finance education with strategic business leadership and real-world professional experience.
Students complete rigorous Master of Science in Finance coursework aligned with the content domains of the CFA exams, building sophisticated financial knowledge and analytical capabilities. Coursework emphasizes financial strategy, valuation, investment analysis, risk management, and revenue growth, designed to equip students to support flexible operating models and informed decision making across organizations.
Two Concentrations
Within the MBA curriculum, students complete a concentration in either corporate finance or investments. For their second concentration, they may choose another business discipline or select an MBA x concentration offered through approved partnerships with other Northeastern colleges.
Experience-Powered Learning
Experiential learning is a central part of the curriculum. Alongside classroom projects that use real company data, students apply their knowledge through experiential and travel-based electives such as the Global Field Study and the Washington, D.C. Residency. They may also gain hands-on exposure to financial tools by learning to use Bloomberg Terminal and participating in equity research and portfolio management activities through the student-managed 360 Huntington Fund.
A distinctive feature of the MBA program is the full-time, paid corporate residency, which lasts for three, six, or up to 12 months. During this immersive experience, students take on meaningful responsibilities and contribute directly to leading organizations or innovative startups.
The Dual Degree Advantage
The dual degree programs enable students to pursue both degrees concurrently through a coordinated curriculum that allows for the sharing of academic credit across programs. Students work with their academic advisor to plan coursework and ensure timely progress toward degree completion.
