Northeastern University is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful living, learning, and working environment for all members of the university community that is free from sex discrimination. The university's Policy on Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment and Title IX prohibits sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and retaliation, as well as other forms of sexual and gender-based misconduct (the Prohibited Offenses). The policy, and separate procedures referenced in the policy, detail the grievance procedures that the university has adopted to provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of reports of Prohibited Offenses and outline the investigation and resolution of claims of Prohibited Offenses.

Students are encouraged to report questions, concerns, or information about conduct that may constitute sex discrimination, or make a complaint of sex discrimination, to the Title IX coordinator in the Office for University Equity and Compliance by completing the File a Report with OUEC form. Community members impacted by or aware of possible Prohibited Offenses are also encouraged, but not required, to report any information about possible Prohibited Offenses directly to the Northeastern University Police Department.
