Transfer of Credit Taken Before Enrollment at Khoury College
A maximum of 9 semester hours of credit obtained at another institution may be accepted toward the degree, provided the credits meet the following criteria:
- Work is completed at the graduate level for graduate credit
- Student received a grade of 3.000 or better (as per Northeastern University policy)
- Credits were earned at an accredited institution
- Credits have not been used toward any other degree
- Credits must not be more than five years old at the time of transfer
Students can submit a request for transfer of credit after they have begun taking courses in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences. Transfer credit will be offered only for courses that match a course offered at Northeastern and that have been approved by the graduate committee. Students are advised to contact their academic advisor to submit a request.
A student currently enrolled in a Khoury degree program may not take courses outside of the college to meet degree requirements, unless the course(s) were completed before enrollment.
Transfer of Credit Taken During Enrollment at Khoury College
Once students begin their Khoury College graduate degree program, they are expected to complete all coursework for their degree at Northeastern.
Students who wish to take courses at another institution and transfer the credit to Northeastern must obtain prior approval from the college. This includes online and asynchronous courses.
Granting approval follows the approval policy for courses that are not part of the degree. Courses may not be approved if counting them exceeds the full-time load (or approved overload) for the semester in which they are to be taken.
